Themes

how do i apply different themes to windows?

i have XP pro and downloaded a few vista style skins. when i try using them, i get this message: The theme could not load because one of the needed theme files could not be found. this can happen with themes that are installed or authored correctly. you should verify that the wallpaper, screensaver, icons, sounds and other files are in the correct location. Theme: C/WINDOWS/resources/Themes/Oxigena.theme i copied the files into the above stated directory as instructed, but i cant apply the new theme. Why? i already downloaded a theme patcher to allow for third party themes to be used.

  1. You cannot use third party themes on XP....normally, but if you follow the steps at my site, in the sources section, and click on "Using A different theme in XP" it will walk you through the fairly easy steps. You basically need to patch the Windows file that says third party themes can't be used. PS - click on september on the right side and it will be in there.
